Goltens Green Technologies B.V. plans and installs green technology solutions like Ballast Water Treatment installations on seagoing vessels, often during normal operation of the ship. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our expanding team.

About the job

As Project Manager you are responsible for the organization, financial management and technical quality of retrofit projects in the maritime industry. These projects can range from ballast water treatment installations, fuel saving solutions up to large scrubber installations. You are able to identify and anticipate on technical and practical issues concerning the project, communicate them to the relevant parties and propose adequate solutions. Reporting on progress, budget and cost consequences will be done in the English language. You will work in an international environment and regular traveling is part of the job. You will be based in our office in Leek, Groningen.

Tasks

  • Perform ship-surveys to verify possible installation of equipment
  • Collect information for engineering process and provide guidance for engineering team as well as monitoring progress and quality
  • Communicate with suppliers, agree pricing, monitor quality and delivery times
  • Prepare and assemble engineering packages, write instructions and guidance for installation engineers
  • Organize installation on board including shipping of materials and travel arrangements for personnel
  • Communicate and discuss planning with ship owner
  • Write and issue progress reports daily or weekly depending on stage of project
  • Monitor the financial management of the project, prepare invoices, agree and administrate extra work with ship owner, monitor hour budgets
  • Communicate with other stations in the Goltens group in order to safeguard and improve quality

Requirements

  • A technical education/background (Bachelor degree or higher), preferably in marine engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Relevant experience in a marine environment, as seafarer, at a shipyard or comparable
  • Preferably experience in project management
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of technical installations on commercial vessels
  • Excellent communication skills on different levels, from shipboard construction workers to the management team of a large shipping company
  • Outstanding command of the Dutch and English language both written and spoken
  • 3D laser scanning and processing of scans – either you have experience in this field or are willing to get trained to do this
  • Computer skills, apart from the standard Microsoft Office programs also sufficient skills to find your way in other programs
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis, where plans often change on short notice due to the nature of the maritime business
